Exciting new chapter for Elwick Place

Exciting news for Ashford: Ashford Borough Council has revealed a bold new vision for Elwick Place, promising to turn it into a lively hub for leisure and culture right in the heart of the town. With a fresh long-term lease, the popular cinema and Units 1–5 will be secured, and a brand-new family entertainment offering will be introduced. Day or night, there’ll be something for everyone, making the town centre a go-to spot for fun and relaxation.

The revamped Elwick Place will bring together the cinema, exciting social games, live events, and even a modern workspace—all under one roof. Imagine a space where you can work, play, catch a film, and enjoy a night out, seamlessly moving between activities throughout the day.

The Big Picture, the team behind this transformation, have plenty of experience running successful cinema and leisure venues. They were also responsible for the cinema’s impressive relaunch in April 2024, working closely with Ashford Borough Council.

The entertainment offering will include nine bowling lanes, a batting cage, interactive darts, shuffleboard, golf simulators and much more.
If you’re after a place to work, the flexible workspace will be perfect for drop-ins, with Zoom rooms and meeting spaces for groups of 2 up to 20 or more.

This exciting project is part of the Council’s Ashford Town Centre Reset strategy, aiming to boost the evening economy, create welcoming community spaces, and encourage more people to visit and enjoy the town centre.
