The work to revitalise Park Mall has been welcomed today by Damian Green MP, who visited the ever-improving shopping centre that was bought by Ashford Borough Council in 2015.
Since then, the council has been working hard to improve the look and feel of the centre and of course attract people to its emerging high-quality independent-led offer.

Footfall figures consistently indicate Park Mall is boasting a marked increase on previous years, with the 6.8% increase for January particularly noteworthy given the traditionally quieter trading.
The quality independent retailers, including Emporia Fabric and Craft, Happy and Glorious, Glam-R-Us, PJ Produce and the collective of start-ups who occupy Made in Ashford are proving that the Portas Pilot and the PopUp Ashford shop were the catalyst for the success that has followed.

But the success of Park Mall is not just about new traders. Existing traders are noting an increase in sales figures since the council initiatives began, with Wilko saying that they are attracting over 500 more paying customers per week.
Several traders have approached the council about renewing their leases, such as Blossom Hair and Games Workshop, with others to be announced very shortly.
More traders will soon be announced to be joining the Park Mall Shopping Centre in the near future.
