The wait is finally over for the Taste of Kent finalists, including three of Ashford’s favourite Farmers’ Market Traders.
The Taste of Kent Awards ceremony is held once a year by Produced in Kent, celebrating the best of Kent’s food and drink businesses.
Food and drink producers, restaurants, brewers and local markets are just some of the trades that are recognised by the organisation.
Back in September, members of the public and producers themselves, had the opportunity to submit Kent businesses and brands for the categories defined by the Produced In Kent website. Online users could then visit the site to vote for their favourites in each category.
Three of Ashford’s best know Farmers’ Market Traders were amongst the finalist, including Stour Valley Game for Butcher Shop of the Year; Thomas Cookie Co for Kent Food Producer of the Year and Romney Marsh Brewery for Kent Beer of the Year with their popular Romney Amber.
After attending the awards last night, both Stour Valley Game and Thomas Cookie Co walked away with their treasured Taste of Kent Finalist Awards, while Romney Marsh Brewery came away winners of their category, proud owners of the best beer in Kent!
You can catch fabulous producers and traders like these at the Ashford Farmer’s Market on the first Sunday of every month and taste the delights of the season.
