Proposals for the exciting redevelopment of Elwick Place in Ashford town centre, are due to go on show to the public for the very first time.

Leading UK developer, Stanhope has announced that it will be displaying its initial proposals for the redevelopment of the derelict site at a public exhibition to be held in the County Square Shopping Centre next week.

The proposals, which represent in excess of £75 million of private investment into Ashford, include:

  • A multi-screen Cinema
  • A family hotel to support Ashford’s growing tourist economy
  • Restaurant space to attract the country’s best-loved dining experiences
  • Homes, including private apartments, rental properties and retirement homes
  • Attractive public space and landscaping

Cllr Gerry Clarkson, Leader of Ashford Borough Council, said:

This is excellent news on a priority development site in Ashford and we are delighted to see these exciting proposals for the town centre come forward.

A town centre cinema with places to eat and drink around a new square will be a real draw and will help to bring extra vitality to the town centre during the day and evening.

Gary Bourne, Director at Stanhope, said:

We’re eager to present our plans to the public and think people will be very excited when they see our vision.

The proposals, designed by Guy Hollaway Architects, are due to be presented to the public for the first time at a public exhibition taking place over two days.
