We are delighted to welcome two brand new traders to Ashford Farmers’ Market; The Vegan Food Junkies and Pots of Nom! Plus local musicians, The Great Mates, will be performing on the bandstand. We caught up with Russell from The Vegan Food Junkies to find out more about the business and their unique vegan cheese invention. Here’s what’s in store for the 3rd June market:
The Vegan Food Junkies is run by Bruce and Russell Kidd who teamed up discovering their love and mutual passion for great vegan food.
You may not think crispy sausage rolls or pasties could taste delicious AND be vegan – but The Vegan Food Junkies certainly prove they can! From fake steak and ale pasties to fruity banana loaves, The Vegan Food Junkies offer up a delicious selection of hearty food for vegans and non-vegans alike.
Bruce and I love to experiment with new ingredients and flavours to create flavoursome vegan food which not only vegans can enjoy, but we hope will also appeal to the general public.
We let the food speak for itself! We try new recipes and will invite our family round to try them out. Bruce and I are foodies and the food we sell is the food we love to eat ourselves.
One of their specialities is casheeze; a non-dairy and healthy alternative to cheese used in their signature Casheeze and Onion Pasty. If you’d like to try some samples at the June Farmers’ Market, make sure you pop over to say hello, and Like or Share their Facebook page! See you June’s Market Russell and Bruce!
From sweet jams to spiced chutney’s, Pots of Nom pack each jar with delicious fresh flavours. There’s saffron infused marmalade and mulled Damson jam perfect for spreading on toast, and spiced mango chutney, ideal for pairing with a curry. You’ll find Pots of Nom at June’s market too. Follow them on Facebook at Pots of Nom.
Formed in 2001, local band The Great Mates play everything from classic songs of the golden age to popular, modern music. The band is formed of two great mates, Trevor Osbourne and Matthew Wiles. They also cover artists such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Buddy Holly, The Jam and many more. Head over to the bandstand to see them perform at June’s market.
